THE 2011 SEASON Congrats to all our teams on a tremendous year! Overall, it was our 5th consecutive season with an higher program-wide win total (2007: 11; 2008: 20; 2009: 27; 2010: 28: 2011: 29) and with at least one team qualifying for postseason play; 4th consecutive season with two or more teams qualifying for postseason play and 3rd consecutive season with a winning record program-wide.
We also fielded our first-ever 60lb team in 2011! This instructional-level team (ages 4-6) had a blast and made great strides as a result of the efforts, talents and camaraderie of the players, coaches and families. Special thanks to Head Coach Jeff Burns, Assistant Coaches Jim Brades, Maurice Caldwell, Marty Golizio, Dan Kanner, Britt Reid and Allan Weber; Field Crew Andy Hanuscin and Courtland Handy, Photographer Randy Miller and the players: Jake Brades, Cameron Burns, Reese Caldwell, Isaiah Dunn, Dylan Golizio, Tyler Handy, Jake Hanuscin, Luke Hanuscin, David Kanner, Thomas Klopman, Chase McArthur, Jack Miller, Britt Reid and Josh Weber. Congrats on a great "rookie year," 60's!
The 2011 postseason was a fitting end to a memorable year:
All five playoff-eligible teams – the 80's, 95's, 110's and 130's Varsity (WJYFL) and the 110's JV (SJIYFA) – made the playoffs in the same season for the first time in program history. We were one of only two organizations in the 12-member WJYFL to have all four teams secure berths.
Two teams – the 95's and 110's Varsity – qualified for WJYFL Division Championship games.
Coach Roger Kale's 110's Varsity capped a perfect 12-0 season in style with a 48-6 win over the Oaklyn Cougars to win our program's first Varsity-level league championship. The 110's also won the WJYFL North Division (regular season and playoffs), scored well over 500 points and allowed only 6. For the latest on the 110's Varsity, visit www.rvilleravens.com.
Coach Brandon Winn and his 95's earned the #2 seed in the WJYFL North and hosted Northern Burlington in a North semifinal on November 12. The 95's defeated Northern, advanced to the North title game at regular season champ Maple Shade and dropped a hard-fought contest to the Tigers. The 95's finished with a 6-4 record.
In order to qualify for the SJIYFA JV playoffs, Coach Paul Bilgrav and his 110's White had to navigate a tough regular season schedule and needed a win in their regular season finale against a gritty Atco team seeking the same spot. The 110's White beat Atco, which earned them a trip to Moorestown, the site of the SJIYFA 110's JV playoff tournament. There, they played well but fell to perennial power Fleetwood Black.
The 80's, led by Coach Eric Butler, ran into a juggernaut in undefeated Maple Shade and fell in their semifinal game at the Tigers' home field. This was the second consecutive season that the 80's earned a playoff berth and finished the regular season with at least a .500 record.
After securing the first-ever 125's or 130's playoff berth in Junior Ravens history with a win over Lawrence in our first annual "Graduates Game" honoring our 130's playing their last home game, Coach Ed James and his determined squad – the first team we've fielded at this level since 2008 - battled hard but dropped a tough decision at Northern Burlington. Playing their final game for the Junior Ravens were: Denzel Danzy, Tino Gonzalez, Richard Jones, Sal Mandreucci, Elijah McNeil, Greg Moyer, Okoye Taylor and Khalil White. Also wearing the Navy Blue and White for the last time were these "pioneers" who played five or more years for Robbinsville PAL Football, dating back to our beginnings as an intramural program and our first year as the Junior Ravens in 2007: Andrew Aromando, Dave Beamer, Robbie Curran, Dylan James, Kyle Mayer, Anthony Palmer and Alex Zoltanski. THANK YOU, BOYS! YOU WORE THE COLORS AND REPRESENTED "THE NATION" WELL – ON AND OFF THE FIELD!

Robbinsville PAL Junior Ravens Football President Andrew Aromando was recently named by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall Fame as the recipient of their Contribution To Youth Football Award. Aromando was honored at the Chapter’s 49th Annual Scholar-Leader-Athlete Awards Dinner at the Princeton Hyatt on Sunday, March 13. Click here to view the Trenton Times article on the event
During his remarks, Aromando voiced his appreciation to his family and past and present volunteers, parents and players "who ARE Junior Ravens Nation. We can never thank them enough for their sweat, sacrifices and support." Aromando also made this offer:"If anyone is concerned about the state or fate of the human condition, stop by Blakely Park in Robbinsville on any weeknight during the football season. Talk to the parents who set up their lawn chairs, watch practices and foster the fellowship that is the lifeblood of Junior Ravens Football. See how committed our players and coaches are and how much fun they have. You will be inspired by this look at some of our next generation of leaders and those who mentor and raise them. They are the ones who make the truly lasting contributions to youth football, so I am proud to accept this award on their behalf."
